I`m interested in care work and although I don`t have any formal experience, I have been taking care of my 85 year old Gran for two years now. Washing/dressing her, doing her shopping and taking her to see her friends. I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed doing it and it makes me feel happy and fulfilled. I enjoy their company and they seem to enjoy mine. I am keen to make this my career and would be more than willing to take any exams to help achieve this goal. ...

Hello! I am an artist and carer based in Kent, looking for work. My little brother is severely autistic and has epilepsy and tuberous-sclerosis and he's the biggest inspiration in my life. I have worked in a care home for people with dementia. I have worked as a live-in carer. I have started my NVQ lvl 2 in Health and Social Care. I have an enhanced DBS. I have run workshops with autistic kids in schools in Kent. I have provided care work for autistic people in a live-in environment. I am a very caring person, highly compassionate and empathetic. I also am vey driven and motivated, I definitely don't crack easily, if at all. I am able to keep a clear head and make considered decisions in stressful environments. I started a project called the Mandelbrot Project, inspired by my non-verbal brother, which is all about using natural patterns like Fibonacci as a point of common ground between all beings, to design and explore new ways that people can connect with each other, when they have limited verbal language. This is an ongoing project and a life-long ambition of mine. Working in elderly care has really given me an insight into how certain people react to different things. I've realised that im not just an individual, I'm an individual with a goal and a hope in life just like the ladies and gentlemen I care for. Everyone wants something out of life and I want to be the best possible person I can be. I care a lot about what I do and I give my everything to everything I do. I've worked within a team and on my own, both I found enlightening, I feel in a group I can give something different and fun, I like to challenge myself and my colleagues and try to come out with better results each time. I'm an avid reader and I tend to enjoy studying when I'm at home anything from dementia to learning how to knit, I like to test my boundaries and try new things and keep myself motivated. I like to ensure I'm on time and even turn up early to most places, talking and communicating is a passion of mine as I enjoy meeting new people and joining in conversations. ...
