I am a Dementia Friend.

I work in a residential care home during the week as a Relief Night Care Support Worker and during the weekends as an Activity Coordinator.

I enjoying combining my two roles so during the night I provide personal care and support to residents as well as mental stimulation for those that require less sleep at night which prevents isolation and boredom.

How I Make A Difference

Working nights allows me to work with residents that require less sleep or experiencing challenging behavior. I am able to support residents with person centered care/activities which prevents isolation and boredom. My teaching qualification is the invisible ingredient that helps me share my skills with other care staff.
