I am a 66 year-old English-speaking South African and I have a BSc (Hons) degree in biological sciences.
I previously worked for three months (in 2002) as a live-in carer for Consultus. I received my DBS certification this year and paid the additional 13 pounds for the update service. During August 2015, I completed, and passed, the four-day carer course at Trinity Home Care (London) but I have not yet received the Care certificate (which would require a minimum of 10 weeks experience). I have signed a contract with Trinity but, until I get more experience, I do not feel confident enough to do high level care. Trinity do not have many opportunities for lower-level care work (e.g. Some personal and household care and companionship etc) so I am looking for such work via other agencies.
